Benefits of Levemir® (insulin detemir [rDNA origin] injection)

Works for up to 24 hours

Taken once or twice a day, Levemir® (insulin detemir [rDNA origin] injection) helps control your blood sugar levels for up to 24 hours. For people with type 2 diabetes, one dose before bedtime helps keep their blood sugar level under control, day and night.

Proven to safely reduce blood sugar and A1C

Levemir® insulin therapy has been proven to help reduce blood sugar levels over 24 hours.

Your physician may measure your A1C to determine how well your blood sugar levels have been controlled over time. If you have type 2 diabetes, Levemir®, taken once daily, can help you get to your blood sugar goal.

Some patients taking insulin therapy may have episodes of low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia. People with type 2 diabetes taking Levemir® had a low rate of low blood sugar.

Weight gain can be a common concern when you begin taking insulin. Talk to your doctor about how Levemir® can affect your weight.
